If your heart is feeling overwhelmed today, you can find comfort in Psalm 61. I love to meditate on this psalm when troubles take hold in my heart and increase my anxiety. By praying this psalm, I find peace even when my troubles don’t subside.
Today I’m writing about ways to find comfort when your heart is overwhelmed at Woman 2 Woman Ministries. Here’s a peek at my post, and I hope you’ll head over to read the rest.
Is Your Heart Overwhelmed?
“My heart is overwhelmed” Psalm 61:2a NLT
I don’t know if your heart is feeling overwhelmed right now. If not right now, it may have been overwhelmed in the past, or maybe a season of overwhelm is in your future.
Right now, I’m enjoying a lull between seasons of overwhelm. However, I’ve experienced many seasons of heart overwhelm, and I understand what it feels like to be in heart survival mode.
If your heart is hurting today, take comfort in the verses surrounding the phrase mentioned above.
O God, listen to my cry!
Hear my prayer!
From the ends of the earth,
I will cry to you for help,
for my heart is overwhelmed.
Lead me to the towering rock of safety,
for you are my safe refuge,
a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me.
Let me live forever in your sanctuary,
safe beneath the shelter of your wings!
For you have heard my vows, O God.
You have given me an inheritance
reserved for those who fear your name.
Psalm 61:1-5 NLT
